The Enoch Pratt Free Library provides services, reading material, and programs for teens throughout Baltimore. Whether you need help with an assignment, a computer to work on, a fun after-school activity to participate in, a book to read for fun, or all of the above, the EPFL in your neighborhood is there for you. Teens @ the Central Library/State Library Resource Center
The Teen area of the Central Library is dedicated to serving middle and high school students. Featuring books, graphic novels, a teens-only computer room, board games, and a large seating area, this space serves as a home-base for teens using the library for research and recreation.
The Collection
Pratt has an extensive teen collection including: Popular teen fiction, Classic novels and books often found on school reading lists, popular teen series, Japanese and Western-style graphic novels, Research and Homework-Help aids, Databases and other online tools designed to help teens with research, nonfiction covering all subjects written for a teen audience, self-help books, popular magazines, audio books, and novels and nonfiction pertaining specifically to the teen African-American experience. Remember, if you don't see exactly what you want ask a librarian or go online to have your selection sent to the branch most convenient for you!
Teen Programs
EPFL offers a wide variety of entertainment and educational based programs for teens. Whether you’re trying to learn how to write poetry, master the most effective self-defense techniques, or just want to verse your friends at Mario Kart, the library may have the perfect program for you. The Enoch Pratt Free Library offers Live Homework Help, an online tutoring service that connects students to expert tutors in math, science, social studies and English. Spanish-speaking tutors are available in math and science.
